Project Challenge

The West Avenue Neighborhood Improvements Project is a critical step to ensure that the roads on this corridor stay dry and walkable – not just on sunny days, but every day. Sections of West Avenue are prone to flooding whenever there is a significant weather event or king tide.

The city has set aside significant funding to begin this crucial infrastructure improvements project, but every property representative still needs to sign a harmonization license agreement. This agreement allows the city’s contractor to work on private property to accomplish optimum best-case harmonization – creating a smooth connection between the existing property and the elevation of the new road.

Our Approach

Our outreach team focuses on providing proactive, transparent, and responsive outreach to the community. This multi-faceted approach includes extensive harmonization meeting coordination, public meetings, and regular project email updates, all aimed at keeping residents, business owners, and stakeholders informed throughout the project’s duration.

Our strategy includes creating engaging social media content, using videos and photos, to visually communicate progress, key milestones, and upcoming changes such as road raising, the installation of a new pump station, underground utilities, and full reconstruction efforts. These dynamic updates ensure the community is not only informed but can visually track the project’s progress.

We prioritize direct engagement with the community, regularly host harmonization meetings and public forums where stakeholders can ask questions, provide feedback, and stay updated on the project. By offering these opportunities for direct interaction, we foster an environment of trust, collaboration, and openness.

Our team works closely with the City of Miami Beach and the design-build team, ensuring smooth coordination and swift resolution of any stakeholder inquiries or concerns. We manage day-to-day questions from residents, businesses, and commuters, providing clear, timely responses and actionable information to keep the project on track.
